In 2015, we partnered with NYMF's Joey Contreras in Concert to present the inaugural #JoeyShine Video Contest. Student performers in the NYC metro area submitted their cover of Joey's song, "Waiting for More," for the opportunity to sing Off Broadway at Joey's NYMF concert at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theater at The Pershing Square Signature Center. The Top 20 Finalists received singing and acting thru song video feedback and recorded their professional quality final draft videos in NYC to shine in front of the judges panel (Frankie Grande, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, & Eden Espinosa).

The #ShineTop20 finalists ranged in age from 15-22 years old and reside across the metro area in CT, NY, NJ, PA.
☆ Statement Arts ☆
Statement Arts is an arts education outreach non-profit located in New York City that works with at-risk and underserved urban youth. Co-founder Caroline Selia first was introduced to the amazing team and students at Statement Arts in Summer 2014, when she served as Music Director/Mentor. Polish Your Passion has had the exciting opportunity to sponsor master classes and work/study positions for several of the Statement Arts graduates this past year. When we heard that the Tony Awards and Carnegie Mellon University had launched the #NominateMyTeacher search for the inaugural Excellence in Theatre Education Award, we became so inspired by this initiative that we decided to help "spread the word" through our #TonyShine campaign. We loved the fact that nominators could submit a video as part of the "Tell Us the Story" portion of the nomination and offered our services to help polish those videos, so that nominees could shine in front of the judges panel.
