☆ #JoeyShine Video Contest Winner Announced 

The Grand Prize winner of the Polish Your Passion (www.pypnyc.com) and NYMF's Joey Contreras in Concert inaugural #JoeyShine Video Contest is Amanda Lopez. She will perform her rendition of the competition song, "Waiting for More," at NYMF's Joey Contreras in Concert on July 16th at 8pm at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theater at The Pershing Square Signature Center. She joins a stellar list of special guest stars including Broadway's Ben Fankhauser and Adam Kaplan, as well as Alex Newell from Glee.

 

Amanda Lopez is originally from Miami, Florida and is a 2015 graduate of The Boston Conservatory. Some of her recent credits include Carrie: The Musical (Speakeasy Stage Company); The Museum of Useless Desire, Disney's On the Record! (The Boston Conservatory). NYMF's Joey Contreras in Concert will mark her NYC & NYMF debut.

In her 6/15 M.O.V.E. radio show, Nicole Johnson interviewed Tom Morin and Caroline Selia, the Founders of Polish Your Passion, to chat about everything PYP and #JoeyShine. 

 

Nicole Johnson is Founder & Creative Director of Javanna Productions, a non-profit production and entertainment company that raises funds and awareness for a variety of social causes via the arts. Every year, Javanna Productions presents an effort entitled M.O.V.E. (Motivation Opportunity Vision Entertainment) in which members utilize their talent for the betterment of their communities. Currently, Polish Your Passion is launching the first national campaign of #TonyShine. The #TonyShine online effort will benefit the Tony Awards® and Carnegie Mellon University's #NominateMyTeacher search for the inaugural Excellence in Theatre Education Award. 

 

Students can submit a draft of the "Tell Us the Story" portion of their teacher nomination in video or essay format, and Polish Your Passion will send their #TonyShine video feedback for free. Interested students may send their #TonyShine draft by March 25th. The Polish Your Passion co-founders have been inspired by drama teachers in their own educational journeys and seek to encourage all students to nominate teachers that have changed their lives through theatre.
