Polish Your Passion and NYMF’s Joey Contreras in Concert present the inaugural #JoeyShine Video Contest providing emerging student performers with the opportunity to compete to perform at a rising artist’s concert.
This year, Award winning and iTunes Pop Charting songwriter Joey Contreras (Love Me, Love Me Not: The Music of Joey Contreras, Young Kind of Love; Playbill’s “Contemporary Musical Theatre Songwriters You Should Know”; www.joeycontreras.com) has penned the competition song, “Waiting for More.”

The judges’ panel includes Frankie Grande (YouTube Sensation, Big Brother fan favorite, & upcoming judge of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew), Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Broadway's Newsies, Co-Creator of the web series Submissions Only, & star of the upcoming Broadway musical, Tuck Everlasting), and Eden Espinosa (star of Broadway's Wicked, Rent, and the debut album "Look Around") .

Submissions must be received by Friday, June 19th at 11:59PM Eastern.

Open to anyone currently enrolled in high school or college. 2015 graduates are eligible.

You must be at least 13 years old to submit.

You must live in the metro area (NY, NJ, CT, PA) and be able to provide your own transportation to NYC, if chosen as a Top 20 Finalist or Winner.

Record your song using a 3/4 body shot. Please no zooming or internal editing within the song.

You must use the recorded track. No a capella.

By submitting, you agree to allow Polish Your Passion and Joey Contreras to share your video on any and all social media pages and websites.

Amanda Lopez is originally from Miami, Florida and is a 2015 graduate of The Boston Conservatory. Some of her recent credits include Carrie: The Musical (Speakeasy Stage Company); The Museum of Useless Desire, Disney's On the Record! (The Boston Conservatory). NYMF's Joey Contreras in Concert marked her NYC & NYMF debut.

The Grand Prize winner of the inaugural #JoeyShine Video Contest was Amanda Lopez. Amanda Lopez is originally from Miami, Florida and is a 2015 graduate of The Boston Conservatory. Some of her recent credits include Carrie: The Musical (Speakeasy Stage Company); The Museum of Useless Desire, Disney's On the Record! (The Boston Conservatory). NYMF's Joey Contreras in Concert marked her NYC & NYMF debut.
The 2nd place winner in the contest was Pablo Torres (a junior at The Boston Conservatory) and the 3rd place winner was Kate Suppes (a recent graduate from The Hartt School). They joined other finalists, Hanna Shykind and Nicholas Trawick, singing backup vocals on the songs, "Constellations" and "The Beat of Love". The other Top 20 Finalists include Stephen Brower, Myriam Burger, Katie Dolan, Diana Fernandez, Mildred Gil, Daniela Kaplun, Anastasia Lallos, Thomas McCoy, Emily McNally, Symone Mitchell, Ethan Riordan, Javier Romero, Jasmine Sharma, Emily Tolnay and Daniel Scott Walton.
